Family is a crazy business

Thanksgiving with the family got me thinking about how my family is wired. We are pretty much a nut house when we all get together! It's so funny how we all are so different. We each have different parts to play and sometimes it doesn't make sense how we can all work together so well.

My sister, born 10 years before me, is the passive one. She is mostly easy going and good-natured. She has been this way all her life. My parents were very spoiled to have had her first. She is prissier and preppier than I could ever stand to be. She cheered through high school, got good grades and has a good paying job. She is the blond haired, blue eyed, 5' 6" girl. She takes after my mom and I take after my dad.

My mom is sweet as honey. She cares about everyone and never has an unkind word for anyone. She's a tiny lady with bright blue eyes. She is the one who holds our family together and she always has been.

I am the dominate one. I like to have things my way. I am stubborn and loud and opinionated. I was treated like the son my dad never had. I learned to change tires and shoot guns. I helped rebuild a 1971 Chevelle in our garage when I was 12. I have always been the tomboy. I could get good grades if I applied myself, but I have never been a fan of school. I am the dark haired, hazel eyed, 5' 3" girl who took after the grandfather I never met.

My dad has his moods, and many times when he is in a mood I am the one able to keep him in check. I have his stubbornness so he doesn't get away with much when I am involved.

I am so thankful for all of our kooky family members! We don't make any sense on paper, but lucky for us we don't live on paper!
